If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you mix a sewing machine, a laser, a little bit of AI, a whole lot of creativity, and a woman who loves to teach… well, hi 👋🏾 I’m Shon, the heart behind Geaux Savvy Designs — and that’s exactly what you’ll find here!

I’m a maker, educator, business owner, tech leader, and creative problem solver who believes that learning should be fun, creativity should be fearless, and there’s always room for one more project in the sewing room. Around here, we sew, quilt, embroider, laser, laugh, learn, and absolutely keep Geauxing.


✨ So… Who Is Shon?

I’m the owner and creator behind Geaux Savvy Designs, a creative business built around sewing, quilting, embroidery, bag making, laser crafting, and maker education. But that’s only part of the story. Oh yes, and I am an avid Harley-Davidson rider.


By day, I’m also a technology executive and cybersecurity leader, helping organizations think strategically, solve big problems, and navigate complex systems. That means my world is a fun mix of precision and creativity — one minute I’m talking innovation, technology, and AI… and the next I’m helping someone choose stabilizer, thread, or the perfect bag hardware for their next handmade masterpiece.

And honestly? I love that.


Because whether I’m teaching a room full of makers how to use an embroidery machine, helping beginners feel confident with quilting, or talking about AI tools and content creation, my goal is always the same:

Teaching isn’t just something I do — it’s a huge part of who I am.

I’ve spent 20+ years teaching, mentoring, guiding, and encouraging others, and one of my favorite things in the world is helping people go from “I’m not sure I can do this” to “Wait… I MADE THIS!” 💥


Through Geaux Savvy Designs, I teach makers and creatives through:

No gatekeeping. No making people feel behind. No pretending you should already know everything. Around here, we learn together, laugh together, troubleshoot together, and celebrate every finish — from the smallest zipper pouch to the biggest embroidery project.

One of the things that makes my journey unique is that I live in both worlds — the creative world and the technology world.


I’m deeply passionate about helping people understand not only how to make beautiful things with their hands, but also how to use technology, systems, and AI to make life and business easier. I believe creativity and tech are not opposites — they’re teammates.
